Prices

Scheduled Tours

A wide variety of destinations are available. All rates shown per person; reduced prices available for groups of six or more; half price for children under age 16.

Tours are confirmed by 25 % of the tour cost and the balance is due two months before The tour start date.

Groupsof 9 or more benefit from group reservation arrangements.

Payment may be made by Paypal, bank transfer, cheque or any credit card with the exception of American Express

One-Day Tours: 
A fine lunch, entries, and taxes are included on the scheduled one day tours.
Transport not included but can be arranged on request.

All scheduled tour prices include:

• Authoritative commentary by James McDonald;
• Meals and refreshments as indicated in individual tour descriptions;
• Admission fees for museums, castles and other sites;
• Lodging as indicated in individual tour descriptions (in __-star rate accommodations, upgrades available); and
• Transportation as indicated in individual tour descriptions

Private Tours

All rates shown per person (minimum 2 people); itineraries and other tour features are identical to scheduled tours except that participation is limited exclusively to you and members of your party (maximum 19 people).

Tour prices vary according to transport, hotels and meal standards requested.

A la Carte Tours

A la Carte tours are custom-designed by James McDonald in response to your specific areas of interest and may include the services of independent collaborators selected by him based on their eminence in their respective fields; rates shown are base prices per person (minimum of 2 people); half price for children under age 16; prices may be higher if special options (e.g., horse trekking or canal boats) are selected; reduced prices available for groups of 9 or more.

Tour prices vary according to transport, hotels and meal standards requested.

All A la Carte tour prices include:

• Authoritative commentary by James McDonald and/or regional experts selected by James based on your specific areas of interest;
• Lunch and refreshments at high-quality restaurants and cafes;
• Admission fees for museums, castles, caves and other sites;
• Lodging if required. We are also always happy tp simply provide our recommendations.
• Transportation as arranged based on your specific needs

Group Tours

Reduced rates are available for pre-existing groups of 9 or more people for any of our one-day and multi-day tours; rates shown are per person (minimum of 9 people, there is no maximum size); half price for children under age 16; while we can assist with lodging and other needs, this option is designed for groups that are already organized and wish to include one of our tours as part of a larger itinerary.

Group tour prices include:

• Authoritative commentary by James McDonald;
• Lunch and refreshments at high-quality restaurants and cafes;
• Admission fees for museums, castles and other sites

Reservations

The availability of all scheduled tours is guaranteed regardless of the number of reservations made (minimum 1 person; maximum 12 people). All scheduled tours shown on our website have at least one reservation available (i.e., fully booked tours are removed from the website). Places are reserved by payment of 25% of the full tour price. The balance is due two months before the start of the tour date (full payment is required for tours scheduled to depart in less than two months).
